EREA Energy Engineering achieves tripleplus on Data Label

For over 80 years, EREA Energy Engineering BVBA has been one of the largest transformer manufacturers in Europe in the “low voltage segment”. Our products are manufactured entirely in Wijnegem. This long-standing activity provides us, EREA, with extensive expertise in the field of transformers.

“Thanks to 2BA, we have the opportunity to offer our product data in a clear format, which can be processed easily and correctly by our customers.” | Herman Nollet, Co-owner EREA Energy Engineering BVBA

  • Type of participant: manufacturer
  • Data supplier since 2015
  • Data publication via: BMEcat 2005 ETIM 4.0
  • Assortiment: 800
Why did EREA Energy Engineering decide to join 2BA?

Herman Nollet was aware from the start that a party that provides a platform where others can find product data in an ‘easy’ way was an important way to put our products on the map – certainly in the Netherlands.

EREA Energy Engineering has a clear wholesale policy. Both nationally and internationally.

In order to offer all our products to our customers with a low threshold, it is important that they can fill in their systems (read e-shops) as easily as possible. An accepted data pool based on current industry standards is the best option for this.

Why is data (quality) high on the agenda?

Today, ‘everyone’ searches the internet. People search for a product, type in a few keywords and ‘hope’ that the right product is shown.

When the product is then displayed in more detail, it is important that the correct details are given and that they are also reliable.

After all, nothing is more annoying – for both buyer and seller – than having to organize returns due to incorrect information, which only leads to a negative purchasing experience.

How do you view the role of 2BA as a shared data center?

In addition to the unambiguous availability of our data, the 2BA validation, the Data label and the various (improvement) reports offer us even more tools to improve the data quality of our range to the highest possible level.

How do you view the ETIM classification, where do you see the advantages and challenges?

The ETIM Classification is a standard that is part of our product data process. A number of classifications could be made a bit more precise – for our products.

What are the expectations of your chain partners such as sales channels and processors?

There is an increasing demand to supply the data in a well-defined form. In the past, a spreadsheet was sufficient, but now this goes much further given the growing number of data points and applications and uniform data exchange according to fixed standards is indispensable.

What was the (data) challenge and how did the ‘journey’ to the triple plus go?

Given that I find it so important that we have our data correct, striving for a triple plus score was the only option for us. Every time the bar is raised – rightly – we (together with you) look for what was needed to meet this as EREA. Johan Bleumers – R&D Engineer – is in close contact with you to follow up on all these developments and to supply our data correctly again

What are the next steps on the agenda regarding data?

In addition to keeping our information up to date, we also want to further supplement the range with multiple packaging forms and provide the products with attachments such as the necessary certificates and product sheets.
